pet store application

"So you're saying that because you can't use an RDBMS best-practice in Domino, it's necessarily a bad application platform :"
after the DB2NSF withdrawal I would say definitely yes (except if they come up with something else very quickly).
unfortunately the market has began to be shaped...

"You haven't told me what your BUSINESS OBJECTIVE is."
have a simple and integrated platform :
customers do not want to have complicated infrastructures. giving Domino relational capabilities
thru db2nsf (or something else) would keep them on the same platform for simple applications
only complicated apps will remain on J2EE.

"Clearly since there are thousands upon thousands of deployed applications on the platform, that statement is blatantly false."
99% are repositories, 1% left should have been done in another technology

"I am mystified by your assertion that you can't build an eCommerce site on Domino."
a whole eCommerce in NSF : definitely not.
(with RDBMS as backend using Decs / LEI or LSX : yes but a real pain)

"Perhaps YOU can't do it, but that does not mean that no one can."
I can't and You can't since you don't have the set of services I was talking about. not a question of competence.

If you're not convinced start one.

if you want to share more about that you already have my email.

regards
